Dental Veneers & Lumineers
A great smile means everything, and once you’ve made the decision to improve your smile by improving the appearance of your teeth, you have a few options to consider. In some cases, braces make the most sense while other people can get their desired results by simply having their teeth whitened. But for many other people, their preferred method of upgrading their smile is through the application of porcelain veneers and lumineers.
Veneers and lumineers are similar in that they are laid over existing teeth. The big difference between the two is that lumineers require no extensive drilling or unsightly temporary acrylic overlays. After a mold is taken, the lumineers are simply bonded into place after moderate etching on your existing teeth.
Dr. Hamilton and her staff at Comfort Zone for Dentistry have been installing veneers and lumineers for many years because they offer patients many benefits after they’re installed.
They look natural. Porcelain veneers are crafted and manufactured for each individual patient. Because they are a natural color, the result is that they blend seamlessly with the rest of a person’s teeth and smile.
They are easy to care for. Once they have been installed, veneers and lumineers can be treated exactly the same as you would treat your own teeth. Simply floss and brush as you would for any of your other teeth.
They have a long life. Because they are made of a very hard substance, veneers and lumineers last a long, long time.
They protect other teeth. After they are installed, lumineers and veneers also serve to protect other teeth that might be cracked, chipped or have somewhat decayed and are fragile.
Imperfections are immediately hidden. Once they are installed, they immediately cover cracks, gaps, discolorations or chips that may have haunted you for years.
Ease of installation. For the most part, they can be installed in two office visits. The first visit involves taking a mold and removing a thin layer of enamel. A ceramist makes the custom made overlays, which are also shaded to match a person’s existing teeth, and then they are installed on the next visit.
