Implant Dentures & Bridges
It’s important to match the type of treatment you need with the exact dental issue you are facing. For example, traditional dental implants work fine when you need to have a single tooth replaced. But when you have a larger dental issue that requires a full set of teeth to be replaced, traditional dental implants may not be the appropriate solution.
When all of your teeth need to be replaced, Dr. Hamilton will use a branded procedure known as All-on-4 implants. This procedure involves inserting four screws into a person’s jawbone which are then used to anchor a complete set of teeth. The result is a permanent, stable set of teeth that restores you to dental health.
All-on-4 implants do not require bone grafting, which is sometimes the case with traditional implants. Many patients, especially older and more fragile patients consider this a big advantage because there is a shorter healing time, and less pain to deal with.
In addition, All-on-4 implants are considered a more affordable way to replace a full set of teeth. Because only four implants are used, the costs will be much lower than with other types of procedures.
Patients suffering from gum disease and missing teeth that have made it difficult to eat certain things in the past will see those worries go away. They’ll be able to eat pretty much anything they want.
But perhaps the biggest long-term benefit is that with All-on-4 implants in place, your mouth and gums will be much healthier, less prone to root decay and gum disease, and you will enjoy renewed confidence due to a better and more beautiful smile.
The All-on-4 procedure’s recovery time is fairly short. For the first few days following the surgery, patients will only be able to eat soft foods. They’ll be instructed to drink lots of water to stay hydrated and apply ice to reduce minor swelling.
Although there is some short-term discomfort, the long-term benefits far outweigh any downsides for this proven procedure.
